Well Africa is amazing! I have gotten to spend a lot of time with our little angel! I have tons of stories to tell. First I want to say we have been given permission to move forward with the adoption of our little girl. I wish I could show you pictures and tell you her name but to protect her and the baby home it is not possible until I return and am granted guardianship. Until then we will refer to her as Baby P or our little ladybug!....
What I can tell you is that she is a little one with special needs. She is bright and full of life. She as been thru more than you or I could ever imagine. Her eyes tell a story of a fighter. I have been able to spend a little over a week playing with her, feeding her, and just loving her. She love the swings and the Teeter Tooder. She also love going thru mom's bag and playing with lotion. She has lived a long life already. She just learned to walk.
I had to say goodbye yesterday to her... she just laid and cried....she has done this the last few days and it breaks my heart. I worry how long she will be here before I can return to get her. The paperwork will get done. And we know Heavenly father will help provide the funds....It will take a village to bring her home!
Here is a sneak peak at our little one...

Malaria Day!
Wow it is getting close!. My passport arrived in time and I am off to Uganda!. Today I start Malaria medication just a small reminder of how they live everyday. It has been a busy week. We have been blessed with donations to take down to the children. I woke up this morning to new pictures of our princess. Oh how I wish I could post them here!...I promise as soon as I can I will give you a sneak peek.
As I sit and type this so many things I want to say. We have seen and heard some unethical things concerning adoptions lately. This is not an easy ride nor is it for everyone. We feel very blessed that we are given these trials. Hopefully it is taking a little off of her. She is such an angel. Please pray that we are able to get the answers we need to bring her home to us.
Thank you for everyone that has donated. We have a HUGE raffle starting next week please stay tuned for the information on that! You can win a kindle, $500, plus tons more!!!!
Poem for today...As I think of her mother....I hope she knows the love for this little one........
Once there were two women who never knew each other.
One you do not remember, the other you call Mother.
Two different lives shaped to make you one.
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun
The first one gave you life, and the second taught you to live it.
The first gave you a need for love. The second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality. The other gave you a name.
One gave you a talent. The other gave you aim.
One gave you emotions. The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile. The other dried your tears.
One sought for you a home that she could not provide.
The other prayed for a child and her hope was not denied.
And now you ask me, through your tears,
the age-old question unanswered through the years.
Heredity or environment, which are you a product of?
Neither, my darling. Neither. Just two different kinds of Love.

Uganda Bound!...Fundraising going and going......
So much to say and I am not sure how to put it all on paper. Lets start with fundraising first!... Our pampered chef fundraiser is going well and we have had amazing friends give donations lately. I could not ask for better support! February is very very exciting as we will be doing a fundraiser with 2 other families and we have amazing gifts to be raffled off...I will keep you posted as soon as we Launch the blog!
Now my trip....
I have booked my trip to Uganda to be with a dear friend who is going to pick up her daughter. I will get to spend time with our Little lady. This trip is exciting but also very hard. While we are there I will be talking to the director of the home. She will need to give us a green light to independently adopt our little one. If she says no then we will have to move forward and wait for a different child.
With that said I know our heavenly father has a plan for us and for her. I hope that plan includes us bringing her home, but I don't get to choose....I would love to post pictures of her but I can not so I will tell you the best I can..
She has the most beautiful skin tone and lavender eyes...Her smile lightens up a room. She has had our heart since the first time we looked at her. She is a small little angel that has so much potential. We have so much love to give her please pray all goes well and my post upon returning from Uganda will be the great news that we get to move forward with her as our daughter.

Are you crafty? Do you own your own business? Can you help?
Family, Friends, Strangers, Friends of Friends,
Here is my plea....
In February we are going to hold a giveaway (aka raffle) to raise money for our adoption. There will be two other military families who we will be sharing the proceeds with. All three families are in the middle of an international adoption and are stationed in Germany.
Right now we are just trying to gather prizes to be given away.
Are you crafty? Do you own your own Etsy store? Are you an independent consultant? Do you run your own business? Do you like to bake? Do you want to donate?
All donations will be given away during this giveaway. We will accept anything you have to offer and all prizes will/can be linked back your business or store.
The more prizes we can come up with the sweeter the pot will be -- which means the more raffle tickets we can sell!
Please share this with your family and friends as well :)

Pride....
Today is a hard day ... I have an opportunity to go to Uganda nad meet our little one...and spend 2 weeks with her. The hard part about today is pride...Trying to set my pride asside and ask for your help. I will need to go to Uganda to meet with the director of the home were she lives. This will also give me an opportunity to bring her much needed formula and clothing. I would like to travel on the 28th of January. Traveling then will give me support while I am there. Mary Thew will be there picking up her beautiful daughter at the same time. The girls are very close and it will be a tough transition. I spend most of the morning in the passport office trying to get the correct passport to travel. I will be returning tommorrow. They will take the passport to Frankfurt to the consulate. There is an 80% chance it will be back in time. The pride come in with the fact that I will be buying a last minute ticket most likely the day before I fly. These are more expensive. We have everything we need to stay there for the 2 weeks and to bring her the needed items. This will also give us more of an idea of what her medicail needs will be. Thank you to all of you who have sent words of incouragement. It means so much to us and to her!

Incredible...Crazy 20 days!
Merry Christmas! So it has been an amazing holiday. We flew to the States to be with family this holiday season. We have been so blessed!
The kids have had a great time visiting grandma and grandpa..And meeting baby Hadley for the first time. She is my brother's first baby and so sweet!
To update everyone now that we have made some official announcements...We are pursuing an independent adoption. We have a child that we are praying will become part of our forever family. We have meet an amazing person and dear friend that I feel is our biggest supporter....We have felt so much love as we let our friends and family know of our plans. This next year will be full of ups and downs. There will be tears and laughs. We truly feel as if we have been called to bring our daughter home.
As I watched my children open there presents I wonder did our little ladybug have any presents to open today? Did anyone tell her she is loved? Did she even get a meal today? I pray that god held her in his arms today and whispered to her that we are coming.
We have set up a new fundraiser and will be posting more soon please follow us as we "pull on our prayer pants" and bring our daughter home!
I read this this morning.. Tonight we lay everything in God's hands..
Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it. Ezra 10:4
